I am a plant biochemist with 15 years of expertise in small RNA biology and biotic plant interactions with other organisms and viruses. My current research focuses on unraveling the underlying molecular processes involving the acceleration of flowering time in plants after bumblebees bite tiny holes into leaves when under the tress of finding suitable pollen sources.

My research involves multiomics strategies meaning I investigate the transcriptome, proteome and metabolome of the plant to hopefully get a clear picture of what is going on in plants after it they got their bite-marks from the bumblebees.

When not in the lab I love switching my labcoat with my battlejacket and I enjoy going to as many live concerts and festivals as possible to see my favorite melodic death- and power metal bands to free my head and recharge batteries.

Most of the times I am happy share those evenings with my sister who is also a passionate metalhead. When not in the moshpit, I sew new patches on my vest, go to the gym to stay fit for the next concert or love reading and collecting science-fiction novels about the Warhammer40.000 universe, working on my PC hardware and playing cooperative games with friends.
